Voluma XC does exactly what the name implies. Think of it like re-inflating a balloon. We use it to increase the volume under the skin which in turn fills and lifts the sagging skin. After treatment, the overlying skin is pulled up and remains smooth while providing a more natural correction to the nasolabial folds and a lift to the lower face. We have found that Juvederm Voluma XC flows easily and consistently, allowing us to provide a fuller, more youthful appearance.
Dr. Rosen uses Voluma for patients in Broward and Palm Beach counties and throughout South Florida to provide a more effective, longer-lasting, extra lift that is required to correct volume loss in the midface/cheek area of the face.
Juvederm Voluma XC is the latest FDA approved advancement in filler injections used to improve the appearance of age-related volume loss in the cheek area. It is also the first injectable, hyaluronic acid-based treatment to contain lidocaine which provides a more comfortable treatment.
Unfortunately, Juvederm Voluma XC is not a permanent solution. The effects of the treatments can last up to two years. Early studies indicate men and women both like Juvederm Voluma XC since it has lidocaine, requires fewer visits and lasts longer.
Most patients can usually be treated with Juvederm Voluma XC regardless of other drugs used. However, it is important to let your doctor know what drugs you are taking during your consultation before undergoing any medical procedure.
During your consultation with Dr. Rosen you will discuss your concerns and the changes that you’d like to make in your appearance. The doctor will explain the treatments available to you, review the procedures, and point out the risks and limitations involved. Together you will decide the best treatment option for you.
Treating volume loss with Juvederm Voluma XC is a simple and safe procedure and the entire treatment takes about 10 minutes.
Our doctor performs volume loss treatments using Juvederm Voluma XC in our office. Using a tiny needle, Juvederm Voluma XC is injected, very precisely, into your midface or cheek. Because Juvederm Voluma XC contains lidocaine the pain associated with the treatment is minimal. Most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. No sedation is required, and you can resume normal activities immediately. You can even drive yourself home or back to the office.
Side effects from Juvederm Voluma XC are moderate (uncomfortable), and generally last 2 to 4 weeks. The most common side effects include temporary reactions at the treatment site such as tenderness, swelling, firmness, lumps/bumps and itching. You may experience some slight temporary bruising at the treatment site. This can be minimized by avoiding aspirin, ibuprofen, omega-3s, salmon and red wine prior to your appointment or you may cover it with make-up.
